Cookie Policy EN

Effective Date: 13 July 2026

1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies Kill Parkinson gemeinnützige UG (haftungsbeschränkt) (“Kill Parkinson”, “we”, “us”) uses on this website, why we use them, and how you can manage or withdraw your preferences. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy which explains in more detail how we process personal data.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to operate more efficiently, and to provide information to the website owner.
Some cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of a website. Other cookies help website owners understand how visitors use their website. Cookies may be set by the website itself (first-party cookies) or by third parties whose services are used on the website.

3. How We Use Cookies

Kill Parkinson uses cookies only where necessary to operate the website and, where applicable, to understand how the website is used.
We do not use cookies for advertising, marketing, or behavioural profiling. Analytics cookies are used only if you give your consent through the cookie banner. The legal basis on which we rely for each category of cookie is set out in Section 6 below.

4. Types of Cookies We Use

4.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies are required for the basic operation of this website. They enable core functionality such as storing your cookie consent preferences. These cookies do not require consent and cannot be disabled through our cookie banner.
Examples include cookies that remember whether you have accepted or rejected cookies. These cookies are set on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a functioning website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) and are exempt from consent under the applicable e-privacy rules (e.g. Section 25(2) TTDSG), as they are technically essential.

4.2 Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website so that we can improve its performance and usability. These cookies are only set if you give your consent. The legal basis for these cookies is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 25(1) TTDSG), given via the cookie banner. You can withdraw this consent at any time — see Section 8.2.

4.2.1 Website Analytics (Google Analytics)

If enabled, we use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect aggregated information about website usage, such as page views and traffic sources. The information collected does not directly identify you. We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymisation (IP masking) enabled, so your full IP address is not stored by Google. Analytics data is retained for 14 months before being automatically deleted, in line with our configured Google Analytics data-retention settings. We have disabled Google Signals and the sharing of analytics data with Google for benchmarking, technical support, or other Google products, so data collected is not used beyond providing us with website-usage statistics.

4.2.2 Donation Form (Donorbox)

Donations on our website are processed through a third-party service provider, Donorbox. The donation form is embedded on our website using an iframe.
When the donation form is activated, Donorbox may set its own analytics cookies (including Google Analytics) to measure usage of the donation process. These analytics cookies are only set after you have given consent for analytics cookies. Because the donation form is embedded via an iframe hosted on Donorbox’s own domain, these cookies are set directly by Donorbox and are not within Kill Parkinson’s direct technical control. Donorbox acts as an independent party for cookies set
within the embedded form; for details of the specific cookies it uses, their purpose and duration, please refer to Donorbox’s own Cookie and Privacy Policy (link).

We rely on the following legal bases, in accordance with the GDPR and applicable national e-privacy law (e.g. the German TTDSG):
● Strictly necessary cookies: our legitimate interest in ensuring the website functions correctly (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR); no consent is required as these cookies are technically essential.
● Analytics cookies (including those set by Google Analytics and Donorbox): your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), obtained through the cookie banner before any such cookie is set.

Apart from cookies that are strictly necessary to store your consent preferences, no non-essential
cookies are set before you give your consent.

8.1 Changing Your Settings

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by reopening the cookie settings via the cookie
banner.
You may also configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the website.
To manage cookies in your browser, please refer to the support pages for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Microsoft Edge. If you use a different browser, please visit its official support pages.

You can withdraw your consent to analytics cookies at any time, with effect for the future, by reopening the cookie banner (via the “Cookie Settings” link in the website footer) and deselecting
the relevant category, or by deleting the corresponding cookies in your browser. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before withdrawal. Once withdrawn, analytics cookies (including those from Google Analytics and Donorbox) will no longer be set on your device, and no further data will be collected through them until you consent again.

For more information on how we process personal data generally, please see our Privacy Policy.
